Finally, I have acquired my Apple MacBook Pro after the honorable death of my previous White MacBook. It its sleeker, faster and more powerful than any other Mac I’ve seen or had before. Will post more as time progresses…

Hey kids,

Long time no post. It’s been a while. Things are looking up. I moved to Hacienda Heights, CA in the beginning of July. I’ve made myself comftrable here and I’m making friends. Computer wise, things are going downhill. My MacBook’s screen is constantly flickering. I fear that one day it will no longer flicker and it will turn pitch black.

My new roommate, Matthew, is a PC Fan. He’s a big fan of Warcraft III and plays it constantly. He gave me his old case so I can build a desktop while I save enough money for a new MacBook pro. However, I have no way of building this without spending at least $250, that I DON’T HAVE!

I guess I’ll have to ask my sweetheart Ana to send me the desktop from PR. Of course, they’ll charge her like $60-$70 for it.

Here’s what I’ll be working with:

eMachines T3092 (in PR until further notice)
2.1 Ghz AMD Athlon – 512 RAM – 160GB Hard Drive
Dual Boot: Ubuntu 8.4 & Windows XP SP 2 (not updated due to lack of wireless)

Once I get it, I’ll probably get a new keyboard and mouse and a MONITOR, of course. Once Win 7 comes out I’ll probably upgrade to it, since I’ve seen some videos of machines with similar specs run it.

If any of you are currently running the Beta on it, please let me know. If not, I’ll just wipe out Windows and stick with Ubuntu on it.

First of all I would like to start off with the iPhone 3G-S. The newest iteration of the world class phone and Apple’s new flagship product has sold more than a million units in a matter of days since launching. The newest iPhone comes with iPhone 3.0 OS, the newest version of the operating system for this wonderful gadget that includes new features.

However, all this comes with a price. There have been reports of the new iPhone units overheating (including reports of the white colored ones discolorating). After surfing some websites, I encountered that it even locks up after prolonged use and reaching a certain temperature to allow it to cool down.

Also, after my last post on the new Gateway, I receieved a comment that the Gateway LT series is a little hesitant to play with Ubuntu. I hope my newest reader provides us with more info once he sits down and plays with it longer. It seems that the AMD cpu does not allow hyperthreading, slowing things down a bit. I would also like more feedback on this particular little machine. Since I think it has a lot of potential.

Also, for you football fans! It seems as if Real Madrid doesn’t give a flying pig about the current state of the world economy. Even though there are some signs that light is at the end of the tunnel and that global stability is not far (but it won’t be tomorrow either), Real Madrid doesn’t seem to care. They have already spent BIG money on only 4 players. C. Ronaldo has broken the world record transfer for £80 million. Also Kaká, K Benzema and R Albiol have joined from their respective clubs and they are still targeting Franck Ribery from FC Bayern München. It seems that the football club is either in for smooth sailing or destined to shipwreck during the 2009-2010 season of La Liga.

Also, a lot of celebrities have died…but WHO CARES?!

After reading up on http://JKontherun.com, one of my fav websites, I found out that Gateway was coming out with a “Notebook” with a Netbook Soul. So I decided to check out the specs on this new netbook (I think it qualifies as a Netbook even though it has a screen bigger than 10 inches. I categorize it as a netbook for the following:

1. It has no optical drive
2. It runs on a single core processor (in this case, the AMD instead of Intel Atom)
3. It also comes with many of the other features.

Some of the key elements I particularly like about this netbook are the following:

• The ATI Radeon chipset. I’m thinking this computer is capable of superb youtube playback and 720p HD playback.
• The fact that it’s using the AMD CPU, giving it a little more boost.
• 250GB Hard Drive and Multi-Card reader. For all your multimedia files.
• 2GB of RAM stock. We’ll have to see if you can bump it up.

The bad:

• Windows Vista SP1…hahaha, are you serious?
• 0.3 MP webcam
• Bloatware (MS Works and Norton)
• 11.6 screen. (I don’t know if it’s bad…)

The price for this netbook is $399.99 USD. It’ll probably be available by late summer or early fall.

I wonder how well it can run Linux, cuz if I get it…Windows Vista is going down. I also wonder if Acer will put Windows 7 on this when it comes out, since it’ll probably run it decently.

I guess if you read the title of the post you can imagine that I went to see Transformers 2: Revenge of The Fallen…and my god it was a beauty! It all started Tuesday at work, when everyone started talking about the film and I searched it up in my iPhone. I instantly realized that everytime I searched for something related to Transformers, the starlet…Megan Fox, automatically popped up.

I must say, I had completely forgotten about her. Not because I don’t like her, but because her character in Transformers seems to be her breakout role. I must say I had never in my life heard the name Megan Fox before Transformers and I never heard it again until the second film was coming out. I guess since she’s a young gal…she’s barely starting to get noticed, and she’s getting some REAL Attention.

So, back to the story I found myself looking at some pictures from the movie. And I found myself thinking, wow…If I ever cheat on my girlfriend…It should be with her! Not to sound perverted or anything, I’ve never been a guy that follows a celebrity’s every move. I could care less what color panties she wears and what kind of car she’d like to drive or what she looks for in a man. I’m not that kind of guy. I don’t care if people say she’s dumb or smart, it just doesn’t affect my daily life.

However, I saw my self in the need of going to see the movie. I saw the first one and I rather enjoyed it since I remember watching the cartoon when I was a kid. Hey, I’m a man-child and I like cartoons! Just like I do with Batman movies, Spiderman, Star Wars, etc etc. I remember her on the first one and how incredibly attractive she looked, but I thought nothing of it. After a day or so I found myself concentrating on other things.

I wanted to write this post before I completely forget about her again.

I think the reason I wrote this post is because I want everyone to know that Megan Fox is a FOX!

Apple’s Newest OS is set to launch sometime this September just in time for the Holiday Season and at the same time, crash the Windows 7 party.

Many are talking about Snow Leopard not being a new OS, just being a huge update of features under the hood.

Unlike Microsoft’s Windows 7, which is a complete new OS built almost from the ground up, Snow Leopard is just Leopard taken to the 64bit extreme. Snow Leopard will genuinely streamline multicore processor technology.

It will however pack a handfull of features like a new Finder, Quicktime and other surprises under the hood.

What do you think of Snow Leopard?

I know, I’m an Apple fan boy. Now that I’ve downloaded it, I think it’s better if I share my own thoughts.

I guess this is not a major OS overhaul. Apple just iron out some rough spots while adding a couple of features. The only new feature that I love is COPY & PASTE! FINALLY. That and landscape keyboard!

Today iPhone 3.0 was released andas everyone is downloading it. I can’t personally download it yet, as Im still stuck at work until 5:00pm PST. However, any thoughts on it are appreciated and I hope everyone out there can enjoy it.

I will be downloading it tonight and will share more on it as time goes by.

After installing Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackpole (Netbook Remix Version) and actually being excited that wireless worked out of the box I was very excited. That excitement lasted almost a whole 24 hours until I came home from work today and I ran a series of OS Updates.

After the updates, instead of enhancing the expirience, it degraded it. First of all my touchpad was unresponsive. It went wherever except the place I was trying to move to in the screen. Right click has moved to another location where I still haven’t discovered. My keyboard layout only works on US standard…no ñ, á,é, etc!

After an hour of googling for possible fixes for these and the sound issues, I have found no real solutions or workarounds. I got tired and I turned it off. I surfed Eeeuser.com for a while, but no real posts that gave me something to work with. I hope Ubuntu and Canonical reads this and other bloggers or Asus Eee users.

Any real ideas are welcome. Drop me a line or leave a comment.

Just today, I downloaded Jaunty Jackpole from www.ubuntu.com and I installed it on my Asus Eee 900HA. Everything works out of the box, except the volume seems pretty low. However, the netbook remix version seems to boot up in roughly 26 seconds.

I find it extremely practical that Ubuntu decided to update the Netbook Remix and add all the things it was missing. Although it still needs a lot of work, Netbook Remix is by far the best OS out there right now (including the Eeebuntu variants). Here is my desktop as of right now.
